Bekah and David's Wedding Engagement Photo Session

It's well known around the Wilansky universe that David Wilansky doesn't care for wearing pants. Thus, he's known as "Nopansky". To be clear, he prefers shorts over pants. Bekah Parker loves David, pants or no pants, and they can't take their eyes off each other. They're planning their wedding at the Seaport Hotel in Boston later this year. We got together for a wedding engagement session at David's folks' home a couple of weeks ago. Here are a few of the shots polished up a bit. More to follow.

Corey and Will's Red Lion Inn wedding, Cohasset, MA

The sun knew what to do on Corey and Will's wedding day, shining at last after so many days of drenching drizzle. Corey and Will knew what to do, too. They were ready to wed, ready to be surrounded and witnessed and celebrated by their families and friends, and ready to let all the love and joy in, from near and far. The Red Lion Inn in Cohasset was the perfectly fun, funky, outdoorsy location they had hoped for, and it was a pleasure photographing the day. Here are a couple of my favorites - and a link to a slideshow of more photos:

Finding the joy in rain

Aren't you sick of this weather? I was feeling that way yesterday, until my wife and I set out for a late afternoon walk despite the heavy weather. We agreed that if we didn't get outside for at least a few minutes that the day wouldn't quite feel complete. So off we went, right out our front door into the hills and dales of our neighborhood, as we so often do when we need a fix of light and air and exercise and catching up. What happened was remarkable.

While we've been walking in this neighborhood for 15 years or so, we suddenly realized that on this day, this walk, we had let the direction of our steps be taken over by the curiosity of going a route we've never taken before. Each step seemed to be towards something new, away from something old. At the same time, we found in our conversation a new path along the route of an old question. It was so very satisfying to be on an altogether new path in familiar territory, and especially so to realize the connection between the new route and the new conversation.

What would it take for you to get out and get your feet wet on a different path today?

Kate Casale and Andrew MacNally's Chatham Bars Inn Wedding on Old Cape Cod

Kate and Andrew jumped, pumped, and kissed their way into wedding history on May 30th. The Cape Cod wedding reception took place up on the hill of the Chatham Bars Inn, overlooking historic Chatham Harbor. Thanks to each and every one of you for making the day so loving and lively. Kate and Andrew, best wishes on your new life together!

Here's a tease of some of the best images - and a link to a slideshow of the earlier parts of the day:

Corey and Will's wedding engagement portraits

Corey and Will are in love with each other, and with Duxbury Beach. We took a little walk and had a little fun there on their engagement portrait session a couple of weeks ago. They were even willing to stand in an ivy patch in the parking lot as a warm up. Imagine what they'll do on their wedding day?! Here are some of my favorites:

Stacey and Doug's Wedding and Ridge Club Reception, Cape Cod

There's something about the way a bride looks at her groom on their wedding day, and the way the groom looks at his bride, that certain connection that glows from within and surrounds everyone and everything around them. This was certainly true for Stacey Souza and Doug Mullen at their Lady of Hope Chapel wedding and Ridge Club reception on Cape Cod. They led their guests through a day of love and adventure, and are now living the dream of honeymoon sand between their toes on some tropical island somewhere. Here are some of my favorite images and and a slideshow of the day - please vote for your favorites below - more to come later:

By the way, the fabulous flowers were arranged by All About Flowers, the elegant cake baked and finished by the lovely Dotie Lovely, aka the Cake Lady, and Steve Binder's spun tunes that had the crowd rockin'.

Lacie McGaughey and Michael Milton's Wedding at Hamilton Hall

The magic wand of Olivander's did its trick as Lacie and Michael celebrated their wedding on May 16th, creating a perfect day and adding another chapter in the couple's never ending story. Hamilton Hall, a registered national historic landmark, was the setting, a delightful Federal building on Salem, MA's brick-lined Chestnut Street.

Here are some of the best images of the day, in my humble opinion. Please vote for your favorites below, and be sure to click on the link to the slideshow to see more images.
